There are two cosy, well-appointed twin rooms, furnished traditionally with comfortable beds made up with crisp, white cotton sheets. Each has a contemporary en-suite shower room with power-shower and under-floor heating and is equipped with fluffy bath towels and stocked with a range of toiletries.
Facilities in the rooms include flat-screen TV, WiFi access and a refreshment tray equipped with a choice of teas, coffee and hot chocolate, together with home-made biscuits. There is also a selection of current magazines and books, plus a folder of local information.
In the summer, breakfast is served in the light and airy conservatory – in cooler weather, we use our cosy dining room.
There is a choice of cereals, including home-made granola, porridge with maple syrup and dried fruit, fresh fruit (from the garden when available) and organic yoghurt, plus orange juice.
This is followed by various options: a full English fry-up – or how about kedgeree for a complete change? – a continental platter of cold meats and cheeses or our own wholesome breakfast muffins with boiled eggs.
Provided we have some notice, we can be quite flexible and are happy to cater for special diets.
All this is accompanied by pots of tea (a choice of various black teas or herbal infusions) or freshly-brewed coffee and unlimited supplies of toast with a range of homemade preserves and, of course, (love it or hate it) Marmite. Our delicious range of breads is supplied by a local family-run artisan bakery.
